The process of SBI PO Recruitment 2021 will be conducted in three phases. Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Group Discussion & Interview. The SBI PO 2021 exam pattern is as follows-

NOTE: Final Result is prepared on the basis of Mains Exam and Interview in the ratio of 75:25. Prelims is a qualifying examination only and its marks are not considered in the final result.

There are no sectional cut-offs for SBI PO. The number of candidates for Mains exam 10 times (approximately) the number of vacancies in each category will be shortlisted from the top of the merit list.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (SBI PO Prelims Exam)
Prelims exam will be conducted online, in which total questions will be asked for 100 marks. The time limit for this exam is 1 hour. The question paper of the prelims exam is divided into three sections and each section has a separate time limit:

Phase – II: Main Examination (SBI PO Mains Exam)
The mains exam for SBI PO consists of two parts - Objective Test and Descriptive Test (Multiple Choice Questions and Descriptive Questions). The total score for the Mains exam is 200, in which multiple choice questions are asked. In addition, descriptive questions of 50 marks will also be asked. Both these exams will be conducted online. Candidates will have to appear for both the exams one after the other. The candidates will have to solve the multiple choice question paper first, then write the answers to the descriptive questions online.
- There will be a total of four sections in the exam.
- It will have objective type questions.
- The total number of questions here will be 155.
- The total marks for the questions will be 200.
- Candidates have to complete the exam in 3 hours.

The time limit of 30 minutes has been fixed for this exam, in which questions of 50 marks will be asked. This test will be based on English language, in which you will have to write letter and essay in English language. It is mandatory to obtain minimum marks in this question paper as prescribed by the bank. Descriptive questions will be tested only for those candidates who have secured minimum marks in the optional examination as prescribed by the Bank. After this, the cut-off will be determined by adding the marks of these two.
Descriptive Test
- Number of Questions: There will be 2 questions.
- Question Type: There will be questions from English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).
- Total Marks: The total marks will be 50.
- Time Duration: The test will be of 30 minutes duration.
negative marking-
There is negative marking in both prelims and mains exams. This is only for optional questions. Fourth mark i.e. .25 marks will be deducted from your obtained marks for each wrong answer. If you do not answer any question, your marks will not be deducted for that.
Phase-III: Group Discussion (20 marks) and Single Interview (30 marks)
Selection list will be prepared on the basis of aggregate of marks of Optional and Descriptive questions of Mains Examination and selected candidates will be called for Interview. The interview will be conducted in two phases. There will be group discussion first and then interview. Which will be of 20 and 30 marks respectively. Together with these two mains exam marks will be considered for preparing the final merit list.

The three tier process in SBI PO exam was started in the year 2015. Generally, the syllabus of SBI PO remains the same. SBI PO Syllabus is as follows:
